Closing costs by state

Here are buyer and seller closing costs in every state, at a typical home price. They come from the same rules as the NetSheet.org calculator. Pick a state to see who pays what, county by county.

How much are closing costs in each state?

It depends a lot on the state. Buyer plus seller costs run from 1.7% of the price in Colorado to 6.5% in Delaware. That is before commission, at each state's typical home value. The lowest are Colorado, California and Utah. The highest are Delaware, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
